A 2.5-hour summer camp designed for competitive players from elementary through high school. Taught by the USTA award-winning Santa Monica Tennis Collective, this camp provides a structured training environment for players looking to improve their game. Each session begins with drills and conditioning, followed by coach-guided singles and doubles match
play, and ends with competitive group games.
Why This Camp: Ideal training environment to prepare players for summer tournament competition, including 10U green ball, USTA Level 5 events, and high school tryouts.
Level-Based Grouping: Players will be grouped by level on separate courts and matched accordingly to ensure strong quality play and appropriate competition.
- This camp is open to competitive players of all levels, from emerging tournament players to varsity-level athletes.
- Players who have not yet begun match play but meet the consistency prerequisite or pass a free evaluation are also welcome to register. These players will be grouped separately and introduced to scoring, match play, and tiebreakers.
FREE VERIFIED UTR & WTN MATCH PLAY FOR ALL CAMPERS. Matches may be submitted as verified UTR matches at no additional cost if all players in the match agree before play begins.
Skill Prerequisite or Free Evaluation:
Players should know the basics of all strokes, including serve, forehand, backhand, and volley, and be able to sustain a 10-ball rally.

Equipment Requirements
- Players must bring a tennis racquet and wear non-marking shoes.
Online registration is required. Walk-in registration is not available.
REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be emailed to the Community Classes & Camps office at community.classes@santamonica.gov. Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.
REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.
CANCELLED CLASSES: Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
