This class introduces elementary school-aged players to tennis in a fun and engaging way. Players will learn on a shortened court with low-compression balls, making it easier to rally and build confidence. Sessions include simple drills and games designed to develop basic skills and enjoyment of the sport.
PREREQUISITE: This is a youth beginner class - no experience necessary.
Free evaluation weekends at Santa Monica High School. Contact Debbie at 310-430-1962.
Players must bring a racquet to class and wear non-marking shoes. Racquets can be provided if needed (contact Debbie in advance)
- Low player to coach ratio: 5:1
- Instructors are USPTA-certified and USTA Youth Specialist coaches
Online registration is required. Walk-in registration is not available.
REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be emailed to the Community Classes & Camps office at community.classes@santamonica.gov. Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.
REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.
CANCELLED CLASSES: Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
