Designed specifically for elementary school-age students who are new to tennis and want to learn the game in a fun, age-appropriate setting. Taught by the USTA award-winning Santa Monica Tennis Collective, players learn the fundamentals of tennis through engaging drills and games using orange-ball equipment. Players will develop movement, coordination, and the basics of stroke production, including forehands, backhands, volleys, and serves, while building a strong foundation for continued progression. Grab a friend or come on your own and meet others at a similar level.
FREE EVALUATION: Contact Debbie at 310-430-1962 to help determine appropriate class placement. SMTC reserves the right to recommend a different class or discontinue enrollment if a participant does not meet the skill level, readiness, or behavioral requirements of the class. Behavioral readiness includes being able to follow instructor directions, use racquets and equipment safely, remain appropriately engaged with the group, and participate without repeatedly disrupting the safety or learning experience of others.
Location: Clover Park.
Requirements:
- Racquets can be provided upon advance request. Please text Debbie at 310-430-1962 the day before class if a racquet is needed.
- Please bring water and light snack as needed.
- Wear non-marking athletic shoes.
Online registration is required. Walk-in registration is not available.
REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be emailed to the Community Classes & Camps office at community.classes@santamonica.gov. Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.
REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.
CANCELLED CLASSES: Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
