About This Activity
Description
This activity is closed to further registration.
Academy Classes are more advanced than Youth Tennis Classes. For example, a Novice Academy Class is more advanced than an Advanced Tennis Class. The Academy becomes progressively more advanced starting with the Novice Academy (for players starting competition), then moving onto the Satellite Academy, and finally to the most advanced Academy, the Open Academy (for players who complete in tournaments or play on a middle or high school team).
Instructor approval required to participate in this class. To ensure that your child is playing at the appropriate level for this class, a brief evaluation with Coach Richard Goldenson is required to determine if placement in this class is appropriate. Contact Coach Richard at Richard@santamonicatennis.com for questions and to confirm an evaluation date/location.
Novice - Players at this level are able to get his or her serve in on a consistent basis which means the player can successfully get their serve into the service court approximately 4 out of 8 attempts.
All students must bring a new can of balls and tennis racket to class. Non-marking, rubber-soled athletic shoes with laces or Velcro fasteners must be worn. No crocs or similar footwear allowed
