Lego Robotics & Engineering with PlaySmart Education (TK-K)
Students build and perfect their own robotic machines from thousands of Lego parts. First, they build a standard version of the project with the help of a master builder. Next, they creatively customize and modify their creation. Finally, they test their robot or other machine in competition or friendly play with other student engineers. Motorized projects may include walking robot (Dumb Bots), cable car, speedboat, gear car, steerable tank, quad bot (four-legged robot), spider bot, catapult, Battle Train, and an introduction to programmable robotics with Mindstorms EV3. Other projects include catapults and castles, claws and grabbers, and a variety of gravity, human or spring powered devices. Lego Robotics & Engineering promotes critical thinking skills, creativity, basic math concepts, self-reliance, and self-confidence, all while children have enormous fun.
This class has a $10 material fee which must be paid directly to PlaySmart Education by the second-class meeting.
