Do you ever wonder what strange creatures hide beneath the waves? Campers will dive into the weird and wonderful world of bottom-dwelling animals—from camouflaged critters to wiggly, spiny, and slimy surprises. Through hands-on science activities and water-based exploration in Mote and Sarasota Bay, campers will investigate how these unusual animals are adapted to life on the ocean floor. SWIMMING SKILLS REQUIRED Campers will participate in water activities Tuesday through Thursday. These activities include snorkeling, field sampling, and a Sarasota Bay boat excursion. Campers will receive instruction and guidance for all water-based activities. Swimming skills are required, however campers do not need to be advanced swimmers. They must be comfortable getting in the water and be able to doggy paddle. A certified lifeguard will be in the water with camp groups at all times.
