Ahhh—Florida’s waters are under attack by invasive species! Through field explorations, snorkeling, and kayaking, campers will investigate the real-world threats invasive animals pose to local ecosystems. Campers will learn how these “alien” species arrive, why they’re so successful, and how scientists work to monitor and manage their impacts. Join Mote at the City Island campus and become part of the solution in this high-stakes environmental adventure! SWIMMING SKILLS REQUIRED Campers will participate in water activities Tuesday through Thursday. These activities include snorkeling, field sampling, and kayaking. Campers will receive instruction and guidance for all water-based activities. A certified lifeguard will be in the water with camp groups at all times.
