What a better way to celebrate summer than to have your camper discover the wide world of marine engineering. This week, campers will get creative in ways to help solve problems that ecosystems face everyday. From mangrove clean ups to coastal development, campers will work together to plan, build, and test structures throughout the week and have a lot of fun while they’re at it! This camp has water days Tuesday-Friday that include dip netting, snorkeling, and kayaking. SWIMMING SKILLS REQUIRED Campers will participate in water activities Tuesday through Thursday. These activities include snorkeling, field sampling, and kayaking. Campers will receive instruction and guidance for all water-based activities. A certified lifeguard will be in the water with camp groups at all times. This camp also includes tours of the Marine Mammal Center. Campers may register for a morning AND afternoon session to make a full day of environmental fun at Mote! Full-day campers will bring a nut-free lunch and enjoy a supervised lunch break with fellow campers from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
