Spotlight Community Players: Let's Create a Puppet Show! Ages 8-13. Who doesn't love a puppet show? In this week-long workshop, actors will use puppets to tell a series of short stories. Each actor will shape a puppet character using their voice and body movements. This special workshop will culminate in a puppet show for family and friends.
Why teach and practice "Puppetry"? Techniques used during puppetry help our young actors hone their "craft". They learn how to give an object "stage presence" while at the same time, practicing their own acting skills as well. For those new to the stage or who have a bit of stage fright, working through a puppet gives them confidence to boost as they are never "alone" while performing.
No previous acting experience is necessary! All that is required is that each actor be a great team player with fantastic imagination and bravery!
