To be eligible to join the Development High School Team, a sailor must either be enrolled in High School or be a 8th grader with previous sailing experience over multiple seasons. Contact a coach if you are unsure if your child should be in this group. High School Sailing is SSP's off-season program (Spring and Fall) for high school students who want to stay engaged with sailing during the school year and compete in the NWISA high school racing circuit. While SSP facilitates, coaches, and supervises the high school sailing program, students form their own teams within their respective schools and take on the responsibilities of recruiting and team management. Practices and regattas will primarily take place in Flying Juniors (FJs) and c420s, but will also occasionally utilize keelboats and Lasers. High school sailing is a more independent experience that encourages kids who sailed at SSP in the summer, whether in summer race team or camps, to take responsibility for their sailing experience and build their own sailing communities at their respective schools.
