About This Activity
The Laser Travel Team is SSP's competitive Laser sailing team for the summer season. This team is for sailors age 14-18 who weigh a minimum of 105lbs (for 4.7 rig - 130lbs for Radial) and have at least a year of racing experience under their belts. They may be new to the Laser, but they must have solid fundamentals and should be athletic, competitively minded, and interested in racing at a regional level. The Laser travel team will meet twice a week for coached practices as one large group. SSP will send a coach to most regional events that these sailors may wish to compete in. SSP expects sailors on this team to compete in at least three regattas during the summer season, and to attend every practice (barring irregular exceptions). Admission to this team is by application only.
