About This Activity
The Sand Point Opti Team (S.P.O.T.) is Sail Sand Point's racing team for kids aged 9-14 who weigh 65-110lbs and want to continue to develop their sailing skills. This team practices twice a week during Spring, Summer, and Fall. For the Development Opti Team, Sailors should have solid fundamentals (able to sail upwind and downwind independently, sail confidently up to 10+ knots of wind), be able to take higher-level direction while managing their own boats on the water. Regatta participation is highly encouraged during the summer and there are many opportunities for sailors to practice their racing skills, no matter their experience level.
