PREREQUISITES: 1. COMPLETION OF ONE SESSION OF TRAVEL RACE. 2. MINIMUM OF 15 YEARS OLD BY FIRST DAY OF CAMP. 3. COMPLETE APPLICATION ON SBJSA WEBSITE. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS PRIOR TO FIRST DAY OF CAMP: 1. COMPLETION OF LIFEGUARDING WITH WATERFRONT MODULE. THIS CLASS INCLUDES REQUIRED AED/FIRST AID/CPR FOR THE PROFESSIONAL RESCUER. 2.NYS BOATING LICENSE 3. SAFESPORT TRAINING The Counselor In Training (CIT) program is designed to mentor potential instructors on how to teach sailing, according to the standards of US Sailing and SBJSA. A CIT is expected to shadow a variety of instructors, practice teaching lessons ashore and afloat while adhering to staff expectations within the workplace. CITs will be actively supervised by staff and given timely constructive feedback. Questions?
