Adventure Sailing is a class for our older , experienced sailors. It is designed for campers who want to continue to sail but non-competitively. Campers will sail our keel boats such as the J22 and/or Sonar. The new curriculum includes distance sailing, sailing in the Lake, basic navigation, anchoring, boat maintenance, weather patterns, bigger boat etiquette and rules of the road. It is expected that an instructor will be on the boat with the campers at all times. They will sail for longer periods of time, in a variety of safe conditions. Therefore, our age requirement begins at 12 years old. A former instructor must verify that the applicant has enough basic knowledge from the LTS and/or LTR programs to be enrolled in this class. This class is capped at 5 sailors. This class has its own curriculum that builds upon prior ones as laid out by US Sailing and taught through SBJSA high standards. Detailed curricula are posted on our website under “Sailing” then “Classes and Descriptions”. Unsure if this is the right class?
