Going into Grades 1-2: Mini Makers Camp - Blue Week Mini Makers introduces kids to our core technology topics: Coding, Robotics, and Minecraft. Your child will get to work on a variety of projects each day in small groups. They will design their own video game, create robotic inventions, explore the 3D design world of Minecraft, and do STEM experimentation. Each day your child will build on the skills they’ve learned, leaving with transferable technical and social skills. The daily cross-discipline exposure focuses on valuable skills and allows kids to see progress as their abilities grow. Blue Week: Any Mini Maker camp (Red Week or Blue Week) is appropriate for brand new or experienced makers who have completed kindergarten but are not yet finished grade 2. During a Blue Week some of what we'll be doing is using robots to detect light/electricity and controlling the notes an opera singer sings; coding our own mazes and reaction based videogames; and working together to build a Minecraft world featuring dynamic lighting machines and other devices. For kids who have attended a Red Week before, they will get to use the software platforms they have become familiar with to take on a whole host of different projects. Skills Learned: Social Skills, Confidence, Design, Problem-solving, Game Design, Electronics and Planning Breaks, games and park time are also included for kids to exercise their imagination, have fun and strengthen team-building
