About This Activity
Description
This activity is closed to further registration.
Ballet Folklorico Raices Mexicanas (Roots of Mexico) was founded in 2006 by Maria Valdovinos who believed that Mexican traditional dance should continue throughout the San Joaquin County. Our Mission is to continue educating people about our Mexican heritage through our traditional dancing. Students will learn basic steps each session including footwork, skirt work, and choreography.
Ballet Folklorico classes require students to purchase a one-time uniform. This uniform is worn by each student to class each week. The instructor, Maria Valdovinos, will provide new students with the details for this uniform on the first day of class, or you may contact her at dance@bf-rm.org for questions regarding the class and required uniform.
The female uniform consists of a long red practice skirt, specialized black shoes for this type of dancing, and a Ballet Folklorico Raices Mexicanas tee-shirt. Males will need the specialized shoes and tee-shirt. Uniforms may be found and purchased on the instructor's website at www.bf-rm.org. You will be asked about your uniform size when registering for this class.
