We encourage everyone to get outside and explore the forest, rivers and mountains, but what do you do if you get lost or hurt or the weather unexpectedly changes? How do you plan ahead and prepare for the many adventures in the natural world and what do you do when things go array? In this camp, Campers will hike through the vast terrain of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. They will learn how to move through the forest, down the rivers and up the mountains with maps, compasses and intuitive skill. Campers will also practice various shelter techniques, plant identification and emergency weather protocols. As well as discover the many ways to make water potable. Wilderness Skills will empower youth to feel confident and safe in the wilderness.
