Instructor: Licensed Instructor from Pacific Chess Academy Day: Thursday Dates: Sept. 10, 17, 24 | Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 | Nov. 5, 12 For the last four years, chess has been the most in-demand program offered in the DPIE After School Program. The beginner class is designed for students who have not played chess before. This course will teach kids the fundamental principles of the game. Students will learn how to move pieces, to capture, attack, and deliver checkmate. Lessons are fun and easy to follow, and consist of high-quality instruction, game analysis, tournament games, and games against the instructor. Our unique training platform allows kids to make moves on the virtual chess board, communicate with each other, and solve puzzles during the chess session. Since all games are stored in the database, kids and parents can revise them at any time. The use of modern technology makes the learning of process easy, fast and fun! All you need is a laptop or desktop with audio and visual access. After the first month of instruction, students will have the opportunity to participate in Online Beginner Chess Tournaments on Friday afternoons. Six Reasons Kids Should Learn Chess 1.
