About This Activity
Description
This level is for swimmers who are NOT afraid of getting in the water and are beginning to move more independently. Swimmers must be able to put face in water comfortably and be able to locomote on front and back with equipment and/or Instructor support.They must also be able to perform all Preschool Emerging Swimmer skills, which include:
- Independent pool entry using ladder, seated slide-in, or a jump - Face submerged in the water for 3 seconds - Blowing at least 5 bubbles with the face in - Forward movement using equipment, but no Instructor support for 5 yards
- Backward movement using equipment, but no Instructor support for 5 yards
Main goals for this level: Develop movement with proper body alignment using equipment, without needing instructor assistance. Develop more comfort with the face in the water while blowing bubbles.
Additional Skills: Comfortable full head submersion Eyes open underwater
