About This Activity

Buzzard's Peak Aquatic Sports Academy The Buzzard's Peak Aquatic Sports Academy is a six-week program for youth ages 5–18 designed to introduce participants to three exciting aquatic sports in a fun, supportive, and low-pressure environment. Whether your child is interested in improving their swimming or exploring new sports, this academy provides a well-rounded experience without the commitment of joining a year-round club team. Program Schedule Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Program Overview Weeks 1–3: Swimming technique, stroke development, and endurance training Weeks 4–5: Introduction to water polo, including fundamental skills, teamwork, and basic game play Week 6: Introduction to springboard diving with an emphasis on safety, confidence, and foundational skills Who Should Participate? This program is ideal for children and teens who enjoy being in the water and would like to experience multiple aquatic sports before deciding whether to pursue one in greater depth. Participants will build confidence, improve aquatic skills, and have fun while learning from experienced coaches. Experienced Coaching Instruction is provided by knowledgeable coaches who are current or former collegiate athletes and coaches. Participants benefit from high-quality instruction in a positive, encouraging environment that emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, and enjoyment. Participation Requirements To ensure a safe and successful experience, participants must: Swim 50 yards independently without assistance. Be comfortable swimming in deep water. Important Information No make-up classes or refunds will be provided for missed sessions. Practices will be held rain or shine. Sessions will only be canceled in the event of lightning or other unsafe weather conditions. No practice will be held on Wednesday, September 16.
