Description
"Middle School Rugby (Grades 5-8)” is a coed program open to boys and girls. New and returning athletes are welcome, and no prior rugby experience is required. Players practice twice per week and participate in weekend tournaments throughout the season.Athletes will learn the fundamentals of rugby, including passing, catching, kicking, tackling, falling safely, and rucking. Coaches emphasize proper contact techniques, body positioning, and player safety, helping participants build confidence while protecting themselves and their teammates during gameplay.All instruction is age-appropriate and led by experienced coaches who prioritize safety, skill development, teamwork, and positive reinforcement in a fun and supportive environment.Practices are held in Fargo and West Fargo. Weekend tournaments may require occasional travel and are typically held in Fargo, Clearwater, and the Twin Cities. Tournament competition is divided into two grade-based divisions: Grades 5-6 and Grades 7-8, ensuring age-appropriate play and development. Tournament dates and times will be announced as schedules become available."Register according to grade and school attending for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Equipment Needed:
- Athletic clothing (shorts and shirt)
- Athletic shoes (tennis shoes, soccer cleats and/or football cleats are preferred but not necessary - no baseball/softball or metal cleats)
- Mouthgaurds are REQUIRED
