Description
Where passion meets pavement! Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the sport, our league offers an exciting and energetic atmosphere for players of all skill levels. Played on foot with a ball instead of on rollerblades and a puck, ball hockey is a fast-paced, low-equipment version of ice hockey that's accessible and action-packed. Space is limited, so be sure to register early! Teams will be limited to 12 players per team, no exceptions. Register according to grade and school attending from the 2025-2026 academic year. No preformed teams allowed. No rollerblades allowed – just running shoes.
Schedule may vary each week. 1-2 practices or games will be played each week on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays at 5:15pm, 6:30pm or 7:45pm.
“Buddy” Policy: Teams are typically formed by school, however each participant may request one friend as a “buddy”. The buddy requested must also request you in order for the buddy request to be considered a match. All other requests (e.g. multiple buddies, buddy chains) will not be granted. Requests to play on the same team will not be guaranteed. Siblings are always buddied unless a specific request not to do so is made. When siblings are placed together, no other buddy request is granted. To learn more about the “Buddy” Policy, please visit wfparks.org under youth ball hockey.
Volunteer coaches are needed! We would not be able to offer this program without the help of the volunteer coaches. Please indicate on the registration form or online registration if you are interested in being a coach and if there is another coach you would like to work with.
Equipment Needed:• Hockey Gloves & Stick (a used stick is encouraged, be sure of no sharp edges.)• Athletic shoes• Helmet w/ a facemask (no visors or open face allowed)• Shinpads and elbowpads are encouraged
