Description
A curriculum that offers something for everyone—from the first steps on the ice to mastering advanced techniques. Solid skill development based on the ABCs of basic athleticism—Agility, Balance, Coordination and Speed. A progressive system that, upon completion of the program, allows skaters to confidently advance to more specialized areas of skating.
Skaters will work on balance, edge work, forward and backward skating and many other skills. Instruction from background-screened and certified instructors. Read Level descriptions for more details. Lessons are open to ages 3 to Adult.
REGISTER FOR THE SKATING LEVEL YOU ARE AT, NOT THE TIME YOU WANT. MUST REGISTER BY SKATING LEVEL.
This level is recommended for skaters who are ages 3-5 years old. You should have passed Start to Skate 1 & 2/Intro Hockey 1-2 to take Start to Skate 3 & 4. We prefer at this level that parents only participate during class with their child if it is really needed. Parents can be in shoes or skates.
Skate rental is not available.
Helmets are highly recommended
START TO SKATE 4 ELEMENTS
A Forward skating
B Advanced one-foot glide, two times skater’s height
C Backward swizzles (4-6 in a row)
D Rocking horse – one forward, one backward swizzle, repeat twice
E Two-foot turns in place - forward to backward (both directions)
F Two-foot hop in place
