About This Activity

These two programs will introduce children to the game of baseball. The first 4 weeks will focus exclusively on throwing, catching and batting skill development. The schedule for both programs include the following:
5:30-5:40pm Stretch/running game/station assignments
5:40-6:15pm Station work focusing on skills including:
Throwing mechanics, catching, fielding & hitting
6:15-6:45pm Tee Ball or Pitch Ball games
The last 2 weeks will consist of a short 15 minute team warm up followed by an hour long game.
Volunteer coaches are needed for the season.
Coaches will work with their child’s team at each drill station under the direction of our site supervisor.
A coaches meeting will be held at 6:30pm on May 20 at the West Salem Park & Rec office to discuss the season and answer questions you may have.
DATES:
Tee Ball: June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 July 6 (Mondays)
Pitch Ball: June 3, 10, 17, 24 July 1, 8 (Wednesdays)
TIME:
5:30-6:45pm
SITE:
Field next to Tennis Courts - Park at Panther Den or WSES North Lot
GRADES:
Tee Ball: MUST be in 4K or K for the current 2025-26 school year
Pitch Ball: MUST be in K or 1st grade for the current 2025-26 school year
REGISTER BY 5/15:
$35 Village Res. / $40 School Dist. / $45 Out of Dist.
LATE REGISTRATION 5/16-5/22:
$55 Village Res. / $60 School Dist. / $65 Out of Dist.
Registration after May 15 is NOT guaranteed.
Volunteer Coach Meeting: 6:30pm on May 20 at WS Park & Rec office
Please note that the site location for this program has moved due to ongoing construction at the Elementary School - this program will meet on the field next to the tennis courts near the Panther Den
