This six-week course will help prepare you and your dog for the CGC test, a ten-item test developed by the AKC during which your dog is evaluated on basic obedience and social skills. To be tested, the dog must NOT be reactive/aggressive toward any dogs or people. While there is no age limit, it is recommended the dog be at least 9 months of age, must be up to date on vaccinations, and have knowledge of basic obedience skills. The test will be administered on the last day of class, and all ten items must be demonstrated to pass the test.
One participant per dog aged 14 and up is allowed in class. No retractable leashes are allowed. Positive reinforcement is used, so please bring soft treats to each class.
