About This Activity
Description
Puppy Class provides a positive environment for socialization of puppies to people as well as to each other. Early socialization (before the puppy is 18 weeks old) has been shown to greatly reduce the incidence of both human-directed aggression and dog-dog aggression, as well as anxiety and fear based behavior problems. Additional topics covered are housetraining, mouthing, barking, and preventing behavior problems. Obedience behaviors of sit, coming when called and walking on a leash will be introduced. This class is appropriate for puppies ages 2–4 months old. All dogs must have at least 2 rounds of vaccinations prior to class. If your dog has not yet received the second round of vaccines at the start of the session, please do not bring him/her to class. Humans may attend prior to administration of the 2nd round of vaccinations.
Creative Paws classes allow one participant age 14 and up per dog in class. No retractable leashes allowed. Please bring food to be used as training rewards to each class.
