Kids Musical Theatre at Bay Laurel (Tuesday) Experience: None Needed Rehearsals: K-5th Graders: Performers will rehearse every Tuesday from 3-5:30 pm. Auditions & Casting: Each performer who enrolls will perform in TWO casts. One cast will be their main show (larger role with lines and a solo, duet, or feature) and an ensemble show (smaller role, dancing and singing in all group numbers). Some performers will be cast in age-appropriate featured roles that they will perform twice. *Note: Pending enrollment, there may only be one cast that would perform twice. Program Duration: Spring Semester (February - Mid-May) What Happens In Rehearsals? Kids will work in an interactive and creative environment where they will be taught singing, dancing, acting, and choreography specific to the musical being rehearsed. Who Teaches The Kids? Our program is run by our Creative Director, Jessica Alexander, (MFA Acting, New School University), and supported by a number of assistant directors who are skilled in various aspects of theatre and child development. Safety and More: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have adapted our entire program to fit the safety needs of the community. We will be following whatever rules the Bay Laurel school has in place regarding covid. Outside of Covid, we focus on creating a safe and welcoming environment for all participants and encourage safety during all of our rehearsals.
