About This Activity

Kids Musical Theatre at Bay Laurel (Tuesday) Experience: None Needed Rehearsals: K-5th Graders: Performers will rehearse every Tuesday from 3-5:30 pm. (5:30-6p will be utilized for specialty roles each week). Auditions & Casting: Each performer who enrolls will perform in TWO casts. One cast will be their main show (larger role with lines, a solo, duet, or feature) and an ensemble show (smaller role, dancing and singing in major group numbers). Some performers will be cast in age-appropriate featured roles that they will perform twice. Program Duration: Fall Semester (September - Mid-December) Session Capacity We are able to enroll 60 kids into the program. The first 60 kids to register will be considered for all available roles. A waitlist will open after the first 60 kids are enrolled. If no spaces open up, waitlisted kids will be allowed to participate as ensemble-only participants. What Happens In Rehearsals? Kids will work in an interactive and creative environment where they will be taught singing, dancing, acting, and choreography specific to the musical being rehearsed. Who Teaches The Kids? Our program is run by our Artistic Director, Jessica Alexander, (MFA Acting, New School University), and supported by a number of directors and choreographers who are skilled in various aspects of theatre and performance.
