Tennis Lessons with Coach Shawna Zsinko:
Zsinko has spent the past three seasons as Hinsdale Central High School’s head girls tennis coach. She led the Red Devils to a third-place finish in the state in her debut season in 2017 before winning a team state championship in 2018. She also served as York High School’s Boys tennis coach in the Spring of 2017. Zsinko began her high school coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach for Hinsdale Central’s girls’ and boys’ tennis teams from 2011-15. The two teams won a combined seven state championships in that span. Zsinko served as the girls assistant coach in 2016 and the Red Devils won the fourth straight state championship.
A nationally ranked platform tennis player, Zsinko additionally works as the head platform tennis professional for Butterfield Country Club, while also running Family Chiropractic & Integrative Health. She’s previously worked as a tennis and platform tennis professional at multiple clubs in Illinois and Indiana, including Oak Brook Racquet Club, Glen Ellyn Park District and the Edgewood Valley Country Club. As a player, Zsinko helped Hinsdale Central High School capture two team state championships while also individually placing fourth and seventh (twice) in the state. A scholarship tennis player at Purdue, Zsinko closed her career ranked in Purdue’s top-10 in singles victories while leading the team in singles wins for two seasons.
Program Information:
Uses the USTA 10 and under tennis format on a 60’ court and low compression balls concentrating on receiving skills, rallying skills, ball receiving and placement, play & score, court movement, agility, balance and coordination.
Players will be divided into groups based on ability level. Participants must bring tennis shoes and their own racket.
Makeup classes due to weather will be held on Fridays.
