3 Kids Craft Ideas Using Old School Supplies

Pencil Picture Frame
Start with a plain picture frame and a handful of old pencils. Sharpen each pencil and cut it to your desired length using a small handsaw or a sharp, serrated kitchen knife (grown-ups only!). Lay the pencils out on the frame and glue them into place using hot glue.

You can use either regular pencils or colored pencils for this activity, and it's up to you and your little crafters whether to cut the pencils uniformly, or to cut them irregularly for a more textured look. Add a picture of the kiddo and the frame will look great on mom or dad's desk.

Duct Tape Pencil Box
You can make just about anything look new again with a little bit of duct tape, even that beat-up pencil box that your child brings home at the end of the school year.

Buy some patterned duct tape (available at most craft supply stores) and cover the pencil box with a single pattern, or mix patterns with solids. You can do this with clipboards, three-ring binders, and even lunchboxes. The sky's the limit.

I hope this provides a little inspiration to get you and your kids started. What are some of your ideas for repurposing or crafting with old school supplies?
