Tricycles are welcome at this race, which is open to kids as young as 3 years old. The race begins right after the adult triathlon ends and features four age-group divisions. The junior pee wee triathlon for kids ages 3 to 5 includes a 25-yard swim, 250-yard bike and 100-yard run. Kids racing in the 3 to 5-year-old or 6-to 7-year-old divisions can use big wheels, tricycles or bikes with training wheels.

The Little Bison race is open to kids ages 5 to 15 years old. The swim takes place in a shallow inlet of Lake Alan Henry with lifeguards standing in the water next to the swimmers. The bike and run are flat, out-and-back courses.

This noncompetitive triathlon is designed to introduce kids to the sport and ensure they have fun while swimming, biking, and running. The race, which begins at Buchanan pool, is open to children between 5 and 13 years old. Proceeds from the race will be used to support a special needs program within the Evergreen Park & Recreation District.

Unlike most triathlons that center on adult competition, this event is for kids only. The TOUGHKids Championship Triathlon is open to children between 4 and 15 years old, ensuring even your littlest ones have a chance to participate. ToughKids has five age group divisions so participants only compete against children their own age. The triathlon start is staggered, beginning with the 4 to 6-year-old age group. Can't make the Croton-on-Hudson, New York race? No problem. ToughKids holds races throughout the year and across the U.S. including an August 8 triathlon in Salem, Massachusetts and an August 23 event in New Mexico.

This teen-only event is part of the Toughman Triathlon weekend festival that includes the ToughKids Championship on September 12. Participants of the TOUGHTEEN, who must be between 15 and 19 years old, will swim 300 yards, bike six miles and run 2.5 miles before crossing the finish line. Teen racers will receive a T-shirt, goodie bag and finisher's medal.
