The Ceramics Club is back for the fall and will focus on creating a variety of forms using the fundamental techniques of pinching, coiling, and slab building to create traditional pieces and unique sculptures. There will be a focus on seasonal themes to jump start project ideas, along with plenty of time to pursue projects of one’s own choosing. In addition to using fireable clay for making functional pieces, the students will have an opportunity to work with the ever popular model magic modeling material to create colorful decorative and functional miniature items. Lynne Dorman is a clay artist and psychologist, who has been teaching ceramics to children for over fifteen years. (Please note: This club does not have a session on Nov 26.)
