Immerse young minds in the vibrant world of watercolor painting while cultivating inner calm and focus through mindfulness practices. "Watercolor and Mindfulness" is a unique club designed to nurture creativity and emotional well-being in children. Students will explore the basics of watercolor techniques, such as blending, color mixing, and creating textures, while working on fun, age-appropriate art projects. These hands-on activities will encourage self-expression and artistic growth in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. Each session will also introduce simple mindfulness exercises, such as breathing techniques, guided visualizations, and focusing activities. These practices are seamlessly integrated into the art-making process, teaching students how to center themselves, manage stress, and approach challenges with a calm and positive mindset. The course aims to foster a love for artistic exploration and creativity, enhance fine motor skills and color recognition through watercolor techniques, introduce mindfulness tools to improve focus, emotional regulation, and self-awareness, and create a safe and inclusive space where every child feels valued and inspired. Students will leave the course with not only beautiful creations to take home but also valuable techniques they can use in their daily lives. No prior art or mindfulness experience is necessary—just an open mind and a willingness to have fun! (Please note: There are no sessions on Oct 2 & 30, and Nov 27.)
