Come plant, water, weed, graze, harvest, and save seeds from the TPS Garden. In this summer exploration, campers will be gardening, harvesting, tasting locally grown plants. Together, participants will care for plants, meet some of the animals and insects living in the garden, play games, create drawings, and stay cool. Be prepared to get dirty and have fun, while helping the garden grow! TPS gardener, Asha El-Shabazz, is excited to partner with former gardener, Bri Barton, to continue this beloved camp. Asha became our TPS PreK and K Garden Educator in the fall of 2022 and is excited to host this year's Urban Gardening Camp. As a mom of two, she is well versed in the joy of going outside and playing in the dirt! Asha will draw on her background in horticulture, and children's museum education to create a week filled with activities and take home goodies. Please note: Campers should dress comfortably and appropriately for dirty and wet activities. Any work with food will be nut-free; however, campers with food allergies should be mindful of exposure to allergens and thoughtfully consider this before enrolling.
