Description
Super Tot: Stroke Development
Ages: 3 years to 5 years
Prerequisite: Successfully pass or be competent in all skills and objectives for Advanced Tot. Participants must be able to perform the following skills independently: breath control, rhythmic breathing, front and back floats, retrieve object from chest deep water, jumping in to pool, front and back glides, front and back flutter kicks, roll over from front glide to back float, side breathing and freestyle arm strokes.
Objectives: This class is designed for participants to master basic swimming skills, develop and coordinate strokes, and to increase stamina and pool safety awareness.
Skills: Safety concepts, rhythmic breathing, multiple front and back float combinations, retrieve object from deep water, jump into deep water, introduction to treading water, front and back glide with flutter kicking, catch-up freestyle with side breathing 15-25 yards, whip kick on back 15 yards, elementary backstroke arms 20 yards, backstroke 15-25 yards, plus various combinations of all skills.

An appropriate swimsuit is required at all times. A parent or responsible adult must remain in the spectator area at all times. Swim diapers are required for children under 4 years old regardless of toilet training.
