Tiny Tot: Water Adjustment
Ages: 3 to 5 years
Prerequisite: There are no prerequisites for this course.
Objective: This introductory Adaptive Aquatics class is designed for new participants, including children with autism and/or other adaptive needs. The class focuses on building water confidence, comfort, basic skills, and independence through fun, supportive water-adjustment activities. Participants will remain at this level until they are comfortable in the water, can follow directions, and demonstrate the skills below without goggles.
Skills: Water safety, following directions, entering and exiting the pool, opening eyes underwater to retrieve an object, front and back floats, blowing bubbles, jumping into the pool, flutter kicking, front and back glides, drafting, and arm pulls.

This class is also designed for adaptive swimmers and/or children with autism. Please enroll your child in the appropriate class, as transfers may require a change in day or time.
Younger children may progress at different rates as their strength, coordination, and understanding develop individually. An appropriate swimsuit is required, and a parent or responsible adult must remain in the spectator area. Swim diapers are required for children under 4, regardless of toilet training.
