About This Activity

Description

We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Monday, March 11, 2024.

Academy Classes are more advanced than Youth Tennis Classes. For example, a Novice Academy Class is more advanced than an Advanced Tennis Class. The Academy becomes progressively more advanced starting with the Novice Academy (for players starting competition), then moving onto the Satellite Academy, and finally to the most advanced Academy, the Open Academy (for players who complete in tournaments or play on a middle or high school team).

Instructor approval required to participate in this class. To ensure that your child is playing at the appropriate level for this class, a brief evaluation with Coach Richard Goldenson is required to determine if placement in this class is appropriate. Contact Coach Richard at Richard@santamonicatennis.com for questions and to confirm an evaluation date/location.

Novice - Players at this level are able to get his or her serve in on a consistent basis which means the player can successfully get their serve into the service court approximately 4 out of 8 attempts.

All students must bring a new can of balls and tennis racket to class. Rubber soled athletic shoes must be worn. Students wearing non-athletic shoes will not be permitted to participate.

PRIORITY ONLINE REGISTRATION for Santa Monica residents begins Wednesday, November 1 at 6 a.m. Non-resident registration begins Wednesday, November 8 at 6 a.m. Online registration is required. Walk-in registration is not available. NO CLASS 1/15 or 2/19.

REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be made by email to community.classes@santamonica.gov. Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.

REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.

CANCELLED CLASSES will be made up at the end of the session. Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
