Focusing on safety and skateboard fundamentals, this class is fantastic for beginners to learn how to ride a skateboard. Learn skateboard safety, balance, pushing, turning, and cool tricks. Great for friends and siblings! This is a monthly class that meets 4 times per month on Saturday mornings. Skatepark is reserved for enrolled students only during program time. Maximum 12 students per group class.During non-camp hours all participants must have a Cove Skatepark Membership in order to use the skatepark. Cove Skatepark membership can be attained at the Memorial Park Gym office located next to the Cove Skatepark (1401 Olympic Blvd. Santa Monica, 90404). PARENTS OR LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT TO SIGN COVE SKATEPARK WAIVER. For questions regarding membership and office hours please call (310) 458-8237.
EQUIPMENT:
All safety equipment is mandatory. This includes wrist guards, knee pads, elbow pads and helmet. Rental equipment is not available at this time due to Covid-19. You can purchase equipment at least 48 hrs ahead of time to have it delivered the day of class. Link to our store:

LATE PICK UP POLICY:
The Late Pick-up fees apply to the 12pm pick up time
1. 5 -15 minutes late $10.00
2. 16 - 30 minutes late $25.00
3. 30 mins - 1hr late $50.00
Staff will begin calling parents promptly at pick up time, when students are at camp passed their pick up time. If you are late, a counselor will ask you to sign a sheet stating the time you arrived. You will be contacted by the Administrator if payment is required.
Parents/Guardians will be billed and payment must be cleared before the child can return to class.
If there is an emergency holding you up, please call The Skateside at (424)258-5877 and leave a voice mail if no-one is available to pick up your call.
REFUNDS - Class refunds will be issued with medical documentation or if requested at least 5 calendar days prior to the first meeting. Refunds will be prorated. A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Requests must be made in writing to the Program Supervisor in person or by email (sports@smgov.net and theskateside@gmail.com).
REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.
Makeups will not be offered for days missed by the student. All class dates, times, locations, and instructors are subject to change without notice. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
