The American Red Cross (ARC) requires annual or biannual review courses to maintain a valid certification. Participants must present a valid certification (no more than 30 days expired) at the start of in person training.
Lifeguard Recertification ($230)-Participants who successfully complete the recertification course receive an American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/ CPR/ AED certificate that's valid for 2 years. The in person training (10 hours) is at Smithtown Landing Pool.
CPR/AED Recertification ($128)- New York State requires lifeguards to renew their CPR/ AED annually even though the American Red Cross CPR/ AED certification is valid for 2 years. The in person training (4 hours) takes place at the Smithtown Landing Pool.
