SAILING: The Smithtown Recreation Department's sailing lessons at Long Beach in Smithtown include theory and practice in basic sailing, safety and seamanship. Sessions for Basic Sailing meet Monday through Thursday, two hours per day for two weeks, providing a total of 16 hours of instruction. Beginner and intermediate courses are open to youths and adults, with special family packages available. Life jackets and instruction booklets are provided. .
