About This Activity
This art class is a combination of process and directed art. The process art sessions are child-directed, choice-driven, and celebrate the experience of discovery. The final product is always unique, and the focus lies on the creation of the work, not the outcome. The directed art sessions will start with an introduction to a famous artist. Inspired by one of the famous artist’s art projects, the child will choose how to move forward. Children will explore different materials and techniques to cultivate self-discovery and creativity. Clay, watercolor, chalk, oil pastel, and tempera paint are among the many media we will incorporate.
