Typically on Mother's Day, it's a time for families to be together. Usually a big brunch or lunch is involved, which is nice, but you may consume too many calories in one sitting.

Encourage everyone hop on their bikes and go for a ride. You can ride to your favorite store, park, lake or beach. Pack a picnic and ride to a park—this way you can spend more time together.Make sure everyone knows the road laws and wears a helmet.

There's no better way to explore nature than with your family. You get a great low-impact workout; discover new animals, plants and trails. Plus, this is a time you can talk to your family about what's going on in everyone's life.

Play Softball
Ask another family to play a softball game with you and your kids. This way you can make it a friendly competition. Raise the stakes and make the losing family cook dinner for the winners.A Few Other Ideas
