FACT is proud to host Summer Camp at the FACT Autism Resource Center! Who: Volunteers / peers who are interested in participating and accepting roles as a peer for our campers at Summer Camp Please note: FACT employs a knowledgeable compassionate staff that works on a 1:2 ratio with campers. Every camper is assigned a typical “peer buddy” volunteer that models expected behavior and offers acceptance and encouragement. FACT utilizes a variety of communication tools, best practices in behavior management, and ongoing positive reinforcement. Volunteers may volunteer up to three weeks. If you would like to volunteer for more, please call the office for approval (757) 422-2040. What: Camp GonnawannaGOagin'! FACT hosts a fun-filled, action-packed day camp in Virginia Beach for individuals ages 6 and up with the primary diagnosis of autism. For these individuals, Camp is a haven from the daily struggles of learning, communicating with, and interpreting the world around them. We firmly believe that “children with autism are children first.” Camp GonnawannGOagin’ offers everything a typical day camp for children would offer: swimming, field trips, and friendship! Where: FACT Autism Resource Center- 3509 Virginia Beach Blvd, VB, VA 23452 TIME: You will receive an email with a link to sign your camper up for a drop off and pick up timed window. Slots will be in 10minute increments and will be limited to keep the check-in line short and quick and the parking lots manageable. Drop off slots will range from 8:40-9:10am and pick-up slots will range from 2:50-3:20pm
