About This Activity
Kindergaten / Vorschule Our Kindergarten / Vorschule Camp is just for Kindergarteners. In a group of 12 kids with one GISSV instructor, we begin to focus on the building blocks of academic German language learning. Following German pedagogy for children who are preparing to enter school, our program blends crafts, imaginative play, outdoor time, music and movement, and early academic learning. The instructor will only speak in German, but will respond to both spoken English and German. Children from all language levels are welcome--from total beginner to native speaker. We hope that your child will enjoy their group experience, learn a lot about the German language, be proud of what they accomplish, and meet many new friends. Early German Academics Our Kindergarteners share circle time, breakfast time, crafts, games, stories, and outdoor play, all designed to build German understanding, vocabulary, as well as pre-academic and social skills at the Kindergarten level. Every morning, students will also explicitly learn about the German alphabet and phonetics, to get them ready to read and write! Weekly themes guide activities and provide vocabulary.
